While the Russians are bombing the living hell out of the Syrian Rebels, remember them? Let me refresh your memory, just think of them as the

Strategic Natural Resources Reserves
When I was growing up in the 1950's and 1960's (yea that old) there was constant talk about the limits of natural resources and how the US needs to secure rare resources around the world and set aside resources within the US for the time when the rest of the world's resource becomes scarce.

It was good common sense then and now, especially now. Saudi oil reserves are est. at 268 B barrels,
Venezuela oil reserves are est. at 297 B barrels. The Saudi's are pumping 10 B barrels per year which will deplete their known reserves in about 27 years. Venezuelans are pumping 434 M barrels which if they don't increase their production (highly unlikely) their supply would last 684 years but when the Saudi supply runs low in 27 years, you can bet the Venezuelans will have increased production to fill the void and their supply may last another 27 to 50 years beyond the Saudi's.

(But their portion of the premiums could reach as little as 25% of the total premiums.) What is interesting is that some of those in congress opt to be covered under the insurance plans of their spouses - for the reason that these may offer an even more comprehensive cover or that it may be more cost-effective."

GOP = Greedy Old Patronizers
To understand just how disingenuous the GOP is about healthcare you have to remember that they've been claiming for seven years to have a better plan than the DNC. So now we have the AHCA determined to put 14 M people out of coverage by 2018 and 24 M by 21 million in 2020 and then to 24 million in 2026. But! The budget would save $323 B. Of course the CBO is not tasked with determining who would pay the costs of the 24 M uncovered people who would simply take their problems to the emergency room (T-rump supporters seem to be unaware of that part of the discussion for why to have the ACA). All of the rest of us with increased premiums would pay for the extra burden to Emergency Rooms in both lack of service and higher premiums.

Sometimes Success Is Through Pain
Sometimes success is achieved through great pain and sacrifice. In the case of the GOP POTUS and Congress the dismantling of the EPA, ACA (Obamacare) and screwing their base (rural states) with Trumpcare. After the chemical companies and polluters have sunk so low in the public's eye that they're in danger of losing their operating permits and Trump voters lose their Obamacare coverage and find out that they have far less coverage for the same premiums or no coverage at all; the mid-term and next Presidential elections should go to the DNC. We just have to endure the pain for the next two to four years.
Of course Trump was elected by a populace that was willing to set aside facts, truth, self respect, ethics in the most ignorant election result in decades, so T-rump supporters may never know why their lives have turned so bad the next several years. No doubt their talk show stars and Breitbart will put the blame on the DNC minority and Obama (remember? he's that black man who faked his US birth to become president by 3 million illegal votes [ALERT: this is a satirical statement for those who don't get satire]).
Anyway people who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. Nixon R-POTUS created the EPA at Chemical Companies' behest for more regulation to save their image; following the NYC smog incident and the Cuyahoga river fire. Reagan R-POTUS tried to dismantle the EPA which led to several appointments going to jail and a huge backlash against the GOP. Now T-rump is dismantling the EPA, the ACA and who know what else (SSI? TPP? NAFTA? T-TIP?).
I just hope T-rump screws his base good and hard for the next four years. Go T-rump go, no really go!
