Who Truths and Who Lies

I'm aware that politicians dance around the truth with the skill of a prima ballerina. I'm aware that both GOP and DNC represent everyone but the ordinary members of their parties. When they say 'constituents' we think they mean us when they actually mean rich donors, supporting organizations and corporations (THANK YOU SUPREME COURT FOR GIVING MONEY FREE SPEECH RIGHTS). But when I check up on Liberal politicians they tend to speak mostly true or half truths. When I check up on many Conservatives I find they talk half truths or unsubstantiated lies. This winter has been a banner year for spreading lies about the ACA (Obamacare), SSI and Medicare. To back my statement up see this:

360K/yr Healthcare for his employees. At $15/hr Hu is clearing over $2M (minus labor and ACA costs). Hu might have to finance his yacht and his Ferrari instead of paying cash. On balance the ACA makes it possible for small businesses to provide healthcare at rates similar to corporations they just hate being required to do so. The biggest downside is that healthcare is complicated adding a administrative burden to SBOs. A search on SBO failures doesn't reveal a significant change pre/post ACA. Except for one chart from a right-wing source, and they write such gems as Breitbart's report about Obama's wiretap of Trump Tower.

GOP = Greedy Old Patronizers

To understand just how disingenuous the GOP is about healthcare you have to remember that they've been claiming for seven years to have a better plan than the DNC.  So now we have the AHCA determined to put 14 M people out of coverage by 2018 and 24 M by 21 million in 2020 and then to 24 million in 2026.  But!  The budget would save $323 B.  Of course the CBO is not tasked with determining who would pay the costs of the 24 M uncovered people who would simply take their problems to the emergency room (T-rump supporters seem to be unaware of that part of the discussion for why to have the ACA).  All of the rest of us with increased premiums would pay for the extra burden to Emergency Rooms in both lack of service and higher premiums.

Keep in mind that since the bills were past (Welfare, Medicaid and ACA) the GOP have fought to eliminate them or at least make private sector profits off of them.  Just as they have fought to to label Medicare and Social Security as "Entitlement Programs" lumping them in with Welfare, Medicaid and ACA) despite the fact that 70% of payouts are directly funded by our FICA/SECA taxes for SSI and 51% of Medicare is funded by payroll taxes and premiums.

The most amazing thing is to listen to Paul Ryan who's interpretation of the CBO report reveals that Paul needs an ESL class ASAP!  Politifact rates PR as 66% half true to Pants on Fire liar, or 34% truthful to mostly truthful.  Well he's still more honest than T-rump who lies 70% of the time.

Sometimes Success Is Through Pain

Sometimes success is achieved through great pain and sacrifice.  In the case of the GOP POTUS and Congress the dismantling of the EPA, ACA (Obamacare) and screwing their base (rural states) with Trumpcare.  After the chemical companies and polluters have sunk so low in the public's eye that they're in danger of losing their operating permits and Trump voters lose their Obamacare coverage and find out that they have far less coverage for the same premiums or no coverage at all; the mid-term and next Presidential elections should go to the DNC.  We just have to endure the pain for the next two to four years.

Of course Trump was elected by a populace that was willing to set aside facts, truth, self respect, ethics in the most ignorant election result in decades, so T-rump supporters may never know why their lives have turned so bad the next several years.  No doubt their talk show stars and Breitbart will put the blame on the DNC minority and Obama (remember? he's that black man who faked his US birth to become president by 3 million illegal votes [ALERT: this is a satirical statement for those who don't get satire]).

Anyway people who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.  Nixon R-POTUS created the EPA at Chemical Companies' behest for more regulation to save their image; following the NYC smog incident and the Cuyahoga river fire.  Reagan R-POTUS tried to dismantle the EPA which led to several appointments going to jail and a huge backlash against the GOP.  Now T-rump is dismantling the EPA, the ACA and who know what else (SSI?  TPP?  NAFTA?  T-TIP?).

I just hope T-rump screws his base good and hard for the next four years.  Go T-rump go, no really go!
